Artificial ivory

Several man-made materials, if manufactured with precision, are   almost identical to ivory in composition and, most importantly, in appearance.

The material I frequently use is often softer and more flexible than ivory and, to the untrained eye, indistinguishable from the real thing. It is highly suitable for decorations on Baroque instruments and for the making of thumb bushes.
